Will be taught by Deborah Horrell
Price: $975.00 USD (Includes all materials and lunch each day.)
Class Info pdf:
Drawing will initiate the creative process and help students develop forms to be made three dimensionally. Selected drawings will be translated into hollow vessels through pate de verre. Mold making techniques will be demonstrated, firing schedules discussed and hand-outs provided. Students will work with clay to make forms for mold-making.
Students do not need to be accomplished drafts people, but familiarity with clay modeling and mold-making will be helpful. Demonstrations and slide presentations will supplement workshop information.
GOALS: The class will use drawing to inform and direct the making of glass vessels. Students will complete color tests and 2-3 pate de verre vessels. Glass and color experiments will precede the making of vessels. A syllabus will be provided detailing process so that students can continue exploring the pate de verre method when they return to their studios.
