Booking Flights

  • Book your flights to either Buffalo, NY or Rochester, NY. The Rochester airport is the preferred airport since it is not as busy as the Buffalo airport. Both airports are the same distance from Batavia, NY, 45 minutes.
  • It would also be best if you didn’t book your departure until the day after the workshop ends, so that you can take all of your completed pieces home with you, including those that come out of the kiln during the evening of the last day. UPS and FedEx shipping is also available.

Accomodation:

Bed & Breakfast:

We have a Bed & Breakfast located in LeRoy, NY which is a 10 minute drive from the studio in Batavia, NY. The house was built around 1825 and sits on ¾ acre of land that backs onto the LeRoy Golf Coarse. Breakfast is a self-service style. You have full kitchen facilities & BBQ which enables you to cook your dinners at the house. There are also laundry facilities, and wireless internet on the premises. The rooms and rates are as follows:

Upper Floor Rooms:

  • There are 3 rooms upstairs that share a bathroom.One room has 2 single beds for $35.00/person/night. This room is generally for friends or family that want to sleep in the same room.

    Each of the other 2 rooms have a double bed for $45.00/night.

  • The 4th room upstairs has a private bathroom and with a double bed is $65.00/per night.

Main Floor Room:

  • This bedroom has a double bed and a private bathroom. The rate is $65.00/per night.

    Hotels:

    There are also several hotels in Batavia, which are all about a 10 minute drive from the studio. Two of them have a business center, a fitness center with cardio equipment, and Breakfast, and complimentary high speed internet in all guest rooms. We recommend:

    Transportation:

    In the past, a number of class participants have chosen to rent a car for the duration of their stay; this can be done at the airport upon arrival. You can also check with other classmates to see if they would be willing to share the cost of a rental car (and/or a room). We will be providing a student contact list prior to the class.

    It is a $60.00 – $80.00 cab ride from either the Buffalo or Rochester airport to Batavia.
